The main thing you should do before starting your own home made water purifier is to determine the type of contaminants that you want to remove from the water. After that, you can only choose what method to use to purify the water. The common contaminants in water are chlorine, bacteria, arsenic, E. coli and others. All these contaminants may cause cancer, skin disease, kidney disorders, gastrointestinal irritation and various other illnesses.

The methods of home made water purifier consist of boiling, chemical purification, chlorine treatment and filtration. The boiling, filtering and chemical treating water can remove the microorganisms however; it can't remove chemical toxins which will still make the water not completely safe to drink. With the commercial water purifiers, they even has the system to clear everything in the water to the last bits which will ensure your water to be 100% safe to drink especially by kids.

In conclusion, it is advisable to purchase a good quality commercial water purifier because you are unlikely to have all the knowledge in purifying water and/ or the resources to build a reliable home made water purifier to ensure a 100% safe drinking water purification system for your whole family. Even assuming that you have all that is required, the cost to make a good home water filter or purifier is exorbitant because there is no economies of scale. And now that commercial water purifiers are so affordable, there is no reason to build one yourself!

However, do bear in mind that, a home made water purifier may not be as clean as the ones commercially available as the filtration system and appliances are much more sophisticated with the latest technology in purifying water inserted in. Thus, every detail of the microorganisms in the water can be filtered and purified easily as compared to all homemade water purifiers. While many people have attempted to build a water purifier system from home, most failed as they lack the necessary experience or simply do not have the critical resources required, including the advanced technology and quality materials.

Home Made Water Purifier - Will it Work?

One of the main thing building a home made water purifier is you that need to be extra careful during the process because if you don't know which organisms or viruses to treat, you may just endanger yourself even more as you may place the virus to grow in your body system when drinking. Furthermore, in longer term, self made water purification for home use will not be able to assure clean drinking water as the methods used may just turn out to be ineffective and unhealthy in long run. In addition, higher maintenance is frequently needed for all home made water purifiers to ensure the cleanliness and safety of your daily drinking water.

The world economies are colliding and more and more American business services are outsourced to the third world. If it costs less to produce an important commodity like pharmaceuticals in another country, then American consumers should have access to them. Online pharmacies are making this possible with quick shipments and great prices. Most however, offer little information about where the medicines are manufactured and shipped from. Some offer to sell medicines without a prescription and consumers should carefully consider if it is wise to order medicines without the advise of a physician. Refilling an existing prescription for a drug that one has been taking for awhile carries less risk than ordering something for the first time. It is imperative that consumers be educated and mindful of the drug combinations and dosages.

Save Money on Your Prescriptions

The American healthcare system is broken and driven by profit margins and bottom lines instead of the delivery of the one most essential human need-access to health care. It is estimated that 1/4 of all health care costs are prescription drugs and it is skyrocketing every year. Brand name drug manufacturers have been lobbying against the marketing of low cost generics to protect their profit margins. Something has to change. It would seem the American pharmaceutical industry has a monopoly on the delivery of prescription medicines here in the U.S. Why should brand name medicines cost twice as much or more than the generic version available across the border?

Categories of medicines that can be ordered are weight loss, sexual health, birth control, pain management, muscle relaxers, antibiotics, allergiy, antidepressants, asthma, mens health, diabetes, epilepsy, heart and cholestorol, parkinsons, herpes, cancer, bladder & gout, and womens health.

Kip Pearson is a researcher and advocate for consumer rights and affordable health care.

What can you do? Consider wholesale generic pharmaceuticals from outside the U.S. All controlled drugs have generic equivalents whether they are manufactured here or in other parts of the world. These discount generic meds are often marketed through the same distribution channels as the brand name drugs that can be bought at the local pharmacy. The FDA considers the import of medicines across U.S. borders as illegal even if they are for personal use. Are they protecting us from counterfeit and substandard drugs or are they protecting the patents of the brand name manufacturers here? That is not to say that these counterfeit drugs have not made their way into distribution here. However, given the sheer size of the pharmaceutical industry outside of the U.S., its arrogant to assume that only the drug producers on American soil can do it right. What proof is there that drugs being marketed under the brand names here aren't also imported from overseas anyway.

The number of U.S. residents who delay or forgo necessary medical care because of cost concerns has increased significantly in the past few years. There are 36 million in this country who do not have health insurance and 1/3 of those citizens have been diagnosed with a chronic condition such as hearth disease, diabetes, asthma, HIV/AIDS, Cancer, MS, obesity, chronic pain due to illness or injury, migraines, sleep disorders, etc. How often have we heard about people having to choose between the medicines they need and the basic requirements of life such as food, shelter and transportation. There are some programs available for the very poor who need assistance but what about the working and middle class families who make too much to qualify for this type of assistance. In some cases, families will have basic health coverage but no prescription plan, or a plan that does not cover generic medications. Other plans cover generics but require a large copay. It is also not unheard of for a plan to cover generic drugs which are not available in the U.S. so the patient has to pay out of pocket for the more expensive brand names. Families are forced to sacrifice their resources routinely to maintain the treatments needed for their children and elderly parents.
